New EU-funded campaign to promote Spanish chorizo in the UK
On 29 April 2025, we launched a new EU-funded campaign in London to promote Spanish chorizo in the UK. This three-year programme, co-funded by the European Union under Regulation (EU) No 1144/2014, aims to raise awareness and boost consumption of this iconic product among British consumers.
The campaign is led by the Consorcio del Chorizo Español. At Atlas, we’ve been involved from day one — building the creative concept and campaign identity, developing the strategy, launching it across multiple channels and leading the full implementation.
EU agri-food promotion kicks off with a launch event in London
We kicked off the campaign with a press and influencer event at Camino London, in the heart of King’s Cross. The aim was simple: introduce Spanish chorizo to new audiences in a fresh, relevant and engaging way.
More than 40 guests attended, including food journalists, content creators and retail professionals. The event included:
- A short masterclass on what makes Spanish chorizo unique.
- A tasting session with several varieties.
And three tapas that showed how versatile it can be.
What the Spanish chorizo EU campaign will deliver in the UK
Over the next three years, the campaign will include a wide range of actions to increase awareness and support sales of Spanish chorizo:
- Restaurant weeks and special menus in UK venues.
- Influencer partnerships to grow the #ChorizoLovers community.
- Digital and social media campaigns.
- Point of sale activations.
- Press trips to Spain to showcase the origin and production process.
- Participation in events and trade fairs to support visibility and sales.
Atlas as the implementing agency for EU-funded programmes
This campaign has been developed and is being implemented by Atlas from start to finish. We’ve handled everything from the initial strategy and branding to event planning, influencer relations, and campaign implementation until 2027.
We specialise in EU agri-food promotion, and this project is a great example of how we work: combining market knowledge, creative execution and operational support across multiple channels and years.
We’re proud to lead this campaign and bring Spanish chorizo to new audiences in a market as competitive and interesting as the UK.
